1.) Do you have any shipping deadlines?

2.) Can I cancel and return my European Data service?

Yes. You are free to cancel your European Data SIM service anytime. If you decide to cancel and return within 60 days of purchase, you’ll also be refunded your purchase price as part of your money-back guarantee.

3.) What payment options are there?

Payment of your Mobal service, and future billing for any calls you make is all done by credit card. You can use any of the following types of credit card:

4.) Can I test my European Data SIM before I leave?

Yes, we have set the SIM card up so that it will also work in the US to allow you to check everything is working before you leave. Even better the cost is still the same low flat rate 39c/MB.

Charges and Billing

1.) Are there any extra or hidden charges?

No. The charges quoted on this website are the exact per MB rates you will see on your invoice.

2.) Is the data charged per MB?

No. Your whole months data usage will be rounded to the nearest cent. (so technically you are billed by the kB)

3.) Are there any activation, deactivation or call set up fees?

No. The only charges you’ll pay with Mobal are your purchase costs, and then any data you use at the rate quoted on this page 39c/MB

4.) When am I billed for my usage?

You will be billed for the cost of the SIM and shipping immediately when you order. You will then be billed for your data usage on the 10th day of the month following. E.g If you use your Europe SIM in March you will be billed for that usage on 10 April.

Charges from Mobal will always appear on your card with the reference; "Mobal 212 785 5800". This is our company name and the main customer service phone number so you can contact us via phone for any general queries you may have.

5.) What is the data usage cap?

Your SIM card has a monthly data cap of 256MB (equivalent to $100). When your data usage reaches the cap limit, your SIM will stop working. If you wish to use data beyond your cap, simply contact us, and we will reactivate your service for you. Your data cap will automatically refresh to 256MB ($100) at the beginning of every month.

6.) How do I see my bills?

Once you’ve purchased, you’ll be sent login details for your online account. This means you can check your account 24/7 from anywhere in the world.

7.) What currency am I billed in?

You will be billed in USD.

Using my Data SIM

1.) What do I do when my Data SIM arrives?

  • Power off your device
  • Replace your old SIM with your Mobal Data SIM
  • Turn your phone on, and wait to see a network connection
  • Turn ON Data Roaming
  • Create a new APN (Access Point Name)

2.) To access data with Mobal there are 2 important things you'll need to do:

1.) Turn ON Data Roaming, and
2.) Change the Access Point Name (APN) to 'openroamer.com'


Setting up my device:

iPhone

Go to Settings >General > Cellular > turn ON Data Roaming > scroll down to Cellular Data Network > APN

iPad

Go to Settings >General > Cellular > turn ON Data Roaming > scroll down to Cellular Data Network > APN

Android

Settings > Wireless & Network > Mobile Network > Access Point Names > New APN


Here you can add a new APN, the name can be whatever you like (we recommend 'Mobal', so long as the APN is 'openroamer.com'

2.) My device is telling me that the 'SIM is not accepted'?

To use Mobal you need to have a GSM unlocked device. You can purchase unlocked devices i.e. that you can use with any carrier. Or, you can contact your carrier to unlock it.

3.) I can't get reception and my device is saying 'emergency calls only'?

This means your device is not connecting to the network. There are a few things we recommend you try:

1. Check that the country you are in is one of our 40 European countries.

2. Make sure you have an unlocked GSM (2G/3G device).

3. Turn your phone off, wait a couple of minutes and turn it back on (Sounds silly - but it works sometimes).

4. Make sure your phone is set to automatically search for a network.
