Home to F.C Tokyo, a J.League soccer club, the oddly-named Ajinomoto Stadium located in Western Tokyo will host 8 x rugby games & the Opening Ceremony on September 20th in 2019.

Re-branded as the “Tokyo Stadium” for RWC 2019 the stadium is about a 1-hr journey from Tokyo station and only a short walk from the North exit of Tobitakyu station on the Keio Line.

The Ajinomoto name comes from the stadium sponsor- a leading food company in the area of AminoScience which rather unfortunately translates as Monosodium Glutamate.
