Data on our Japan SIM is fast, free and unlimited, you get 7GB of 4G LTE data. If you use more than 7GB, speeds drop to 128 kilobits per second, which is still good for most uses. There are no caps on the amount you can use, it’s completely unlimited!
On the first day of the calendar month, your data speeds refresh, so you get another 7GB of high speed data from the start of each new month.
However, sometimes, 7GB of high speed data just isn’t enough… If you find that you need more high speed data and you’re still a long way from the end of the month, simply add extra data in your online account. You can add extra GBs for just ¥980 per GB. Those extra GBs can keep you going with streaming video, music, etc, etc, for just a little bit longer!
To add extra data, simply log-in to your Mobal MyAccount. Additional data will be added within 1 working day.

On the packet it said that the sim I bought is unlimited data however the speed of the interest clearly slowed down a lot

All Unlimited SIM Cards are subject to a fair usage policy which is detailed on our website – Data is unlimited. 4G LTE speeds are available whenever possible. Please note, however, that data speeds may be restricted during busy times or if large amounts of data are used. If you use more than 3GB of data in a day, your data speeds may be reduced for 24-48 hours.
